Worship: Sunday 10:30am

WORSHIP:  Centennial has been successful in moving to a blended worship service over the last few years.  The tone is informal but respectful.  There is room for variety, honouring the diversity of the congregation.  With the help of our choir and gifted, flexible music director we are a singing congregation.  Music and message complement each other.  Worship is the central activity of the congregation and the first contact for new people. It has highest priority in our program areas.

MISSION:
As a family sized congregation we do well practicing hospitality with those who visit.  We have many mission projects, local and international, including a downtown mission, CUPS, the Interfaith Food Bank, the Women’s Emergency Shelter and Children’s Cottage, Presbyterian World Service & Development, Presbyterian’s Sharing, Samaritan’s Purse, Eyeglasses for the Philippines.

FELLOWSHIP:
Fellowship continues after worship with Coffee Hour.  Special lunches and pot-luck suppers are held throughout the year.  Other events like Talent Night and Epiphany Party help us get to know one another.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION AND YOUTH:
Our church school is well organized and strong, using the curriculum “One Room Sunday School” with the younger children and “Grow, Proclaim and Serve” with the older group.  Adult Bible Studies are planned for life long learning in the faith.  We have a well equipped, active library.

PASTORAL CARE:
Elders along with the minister provide pastoral care.  Many connections are made at church.  Our Congregational Culture/Youth Team has become more intentional about providing opportunities for discussion at the coffee hour after church.  The congregation carries out a prayer shawl ministry.  Lay visitors provide pastoral care for the homebound and hospitalized.

ADMINISTRATION & STEWARDSHIP:  Centennial holds two annual events to focus on stewardship, one an opportunity for people to indicate where their gifts can be used in the congregation and one an opportunity to make a financial pledge.  The Board of Managers and a part time secretary do an excellent job of handling the day to day stewardship of our assets.

INVOLVEMENT IN THE DENOMINATION:
Centennial participates in the work of the Presbytery, Synod and General Assembly through its minister and representative elder, and through other opportunities to participate in workshop and social gatherings.

Anyuak: An Anyuak service is held on Sundays at 3:30
